Chloe Perry

What are your qualifications?

An Apprenticeship Degree in BSc Food Science and Technology.

What was your career path to your job today?

I started at KP in 2014 and took my degree in Food Science and Technology on day release, moving around the business during my 3-year degree. This included Central Technical, Quality Assurance and Product Development working across multiple sites. After completing my degree I got on to the Graduate Scheme as this felt like a natural progression after the apprenticeship and enables me to see even more of the business.

What does your current role involve?

I am moving into Customer Service for my next rotation after starting in Product Development placement at Ashby. This involved managing my own projects working across process and product development, including flavour projects for Space Raiders and McCoy’s.

What's the best thing about your job?

That you can move around into different roles, giving you a vast amount of knowledge and enabling you to meet a lot of different people across different functions. It is also exciting to be with a group of people who are at the same stage in their careers, which makes you feel supported and encouraged.

What areas of the KP Graduate scheme have you particularly enjoyed?

I have enjoyed being given more responsibility after moving on from my apprenticeship. I have been able to manage projects and make decisions and have more of an impact in projects.

The values and behaviours is really embedded into KP and it has been exciting seeing how it has changed the business.

What's it like to work at KP?

The values and behaviours is really embedded into KP and it has been exciting seeing how it has changed the business. It's a big part of the culture and I think this makes for an honest and supportive environment.

What's your favourite KP Snack and why?

My favourite KP snack is Big Hoops Salt and Vinegar because it is such a strong flavour!

Where would you like your career to take you? / Where do you see yourself in five years?

I hope that in the next couple of years I will know which area and role will suit me. In the longer term, I would like to lead a team within my chosen function.
