What are your qualifications?
I have a 2:1 in BSc (Hons) Food and Nutrition from Sheffield Hallam University. Also, a Distinction in Food Safety Level 4 and HACCP Level 3 - Merit.
What was your career path to your job today?
I’ve worked part-time since I was 14 in various jobs including in a fish and chip shop and waitressing. I also did a year’s placement with the technical projects manager at one of 2 Sisters Food Group’s UK poultry manufacturing sites. Immediately before KP, I was working full time in a doctor’s surgery as a medical receptionist.
What does your current role involve?
I have just completed my first rotation in Development. There were several new product projects in which I have been heavily involved in trialling and data analysis and I have also managed a couple of my own flavour redevelopment projects.
What’s the best thing about your job?
It feels like a ‘real’ job and not what perhaps you’d expect a graduate scheme to be like. I have never felt like ‘just an extra pair of hands.’
What areas of the KP Graduate scheme have you particularly enjoyed?
It has been great getting to know the other grads through our Leadership and Management Development Course. Particularly being abandoned in the middle of nowhere, in the dark, and told to make our way back with just a map!
It feels like a ‘real’ job and not what perhaps you’d expect a graduate scheme to be like.
What’s it like to work at KP?
Working at KP is great! There is a relaxed atmosphere, but we get the job done! There’s always something to be getting on with and everything I have done I have enjoyed!
What’s your favourite KP Snack and why?
I’m a big snacker so just picking one is difficult! I would have to say Brannigans Smoked Ham & Pickle and KP Honey Roast Cashews!
Where would you like your career to take you? / Where do you see yourself in five years?
I think I will have a better answer to this once I have completed the whole of the graduate scheme but I
hope there will be something within KP Snacks that will suit me, perhaps in a managerial position.
