Creating an inclusive and diverse workplace

Building on KP’s ‘Values & Behaviours’, our Inclusion and Diversity (I&D) programme supports a culture of inclusion at KP Snacks. We want KP to feel like a diverse family – where everyone is free to be themselves and has sense of belonging.

To drive this forward, our Values & Behaviours Steerco, led by our CEO and HR Director, has Inclusion and Diversity (I&D) as a focus. Our I&D programme has four key workstreams: Culture, Leadership, Recruitment and Progression.

Our Inclusive Recruitment process is intended to attract diverse talent, to enrich our culture and ensure we hire the best person for our team, not just the job. We are educating our hiring managers about bias and will ensure we have a diverse shortlist for all our roles.

To support our inclusive culture, we run a varied programme to inform and engage KP colleagues and support inclusive behaviours. Across a year, this covers a vast range of topics – from gender, race, religion and neurodiversity to focuses on specific health and wellbeing issues.

Our monthly ‘toolkits’ provide site teams with topic by topic resources to facilitate training, discussion and workshops for local colleagues. Network Groups bring together colleagues with shared interests and offer an opportunity for open discussion in a safe space. And we encourage our colleagues to participate in GroceryAid’s Diversity & Inclusion in Grocery programme which runs monthly Learning Labs throughout the year.

Ultimately, we believe I&D is key element in creating our sustainable business.
