McCoy’s Chips back on TV
The ‘Chip Shop experience’ crisp returns to TV for the second time this year
McCoy’s Chips is back on the nation’s TV screens with its popular ‘When Flavour Calls’ advert following a first successful airing for the campaign earlier this year which contributed to double digit growth (+55.8% MAT) for the brand[1]. The ad, which runs until 16 September, reminds consumers of the McCoy’s Chips unique snacking experience – a familiar chip shop chip taste in a convenient bag of crisps.
The memorable 20 second advert is set in a traditional fish and chip shop on a sunny Brighton seafront, where Sarah receives a mysterious phone call from Flavour. As she picks up the famous McCoy’s golden receiver and tries the full-on flavour of McCoy’s Chips, she realises that ominous eyeballing seagulls are after them in force.
Led by the insight that flavour is a number one purchase driver for snackers and capitalizing on the nation’s shared love of fish and chips, McCoy’s Chips has seen quick success. It was the second largest new product launch in the convenience market in 2017 and is now worth £9.1million[2]with one pack sold every five seconds[3].
Daniel Winslet, Marketing Controller at KP Snacks says:
“Our ‘When Flavour Calls’ adverts have proven to be very successful in driving sales – we expect this second campaign burst to help further boost McCoy’s Chips which is now one of our most successful brands.”
McCoy’s Chips are available nationwide in in three intense flavours that are reminiscent of chip shops: Salted, Salt & Vinegar and Curry Sauce and in sharing bags and multipacks.
