KP SNACKS LAUNCHES SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGN FOR MCCOY’S MUCHOS

KP Snacks has announced a further £1m investment to drive sales of new sharing product, McCoy’s Muchos which launched in January this year.

  • The £1m spend will see McCoy’s Muchos advertised out of home and across social media
  • In-store activity will also run across grocery and convenience retailers

Running until 5th November, the campaign continues to drive awareness of McCoy’s Muchos through striking out-of-home advertising appearing on 6 sheet advertising nationwide and also in-store displays which encourage consumers to choose McCoy’s to ignite the fiesta at home in the run up to key sharing occasions, Halloween and the Mexican Day of the Dead.

In addition, the above the line activity will run alongside a social media campaign in partnership with Twisted, the home of unserious food. Mouth-watering recipe posts and videos will run across Facebook and Instagram, giving an estimated 15m viewers across the UK new and exciting ideas on how to create show stopping snacks using McCoy’s Muchos to share with family and friends.

This second wave of advertising activity will drive further appetite for Muchos, with our partnership with Twisted attracting new consumers as well as keeping it front of mind with existing consumers to drive repeat purchase.”

Launched by KP Snacks to capitalise on the growing trend for Mexican flavours and provide an exciting flavourful alternative within the tortilla market McCoy’s Muchos is a unique half-moon shaped crisp with a blend of six beans and spices locked into the base.
Delivering full-on Mexican flavour across the nation, it already has an impressive 25% awareness with consumers up and down the UK.

Worth £128.8m RSV , McCoy’s is the 5th biggest crisps, snacks and nuts brand in the UK. Over 9 million households consuming the brands’ products each year, placing it in an ideal position to drive overall category growth.

McCoy’s Muchos can be purchased in three authentically Mexican flavours; Cool Sour Cream & Onion, Tangy Nacho Cheese and Smoky Chilli Chicken. Cool Sour Cream & Onion was recently took home the top accolade in the crisps & snacks category at The Grocer New Product Awards, whilst the whole range picked up the coveted Crisps & Snacks Product Launch of the Year at the Retail Industry Awards. All 3 flavours are available in 8 x 180g RISP packs, with Tangy Nacho Cheese and Smoky Chilli Chicken also in 14 x 80g £1 PMPs.
