KP Community Heroes

All KP Snacks colleagues are invited to join our ‘Community Heroes’ scheme by taking a day of paid leave to do a community or charity project of their choice. Here are a couple of examples of how people around KP used their Community Hero days in 2022.

In Leominster, KP colleagues undertook ‘homemaking’ activities at local hospice, St Michael’s. This included making drinks, delivering food and arranging flowers for the residents and during Hospice Care Week, Tyrrells donated crisps for ‘care packages’ for staff and ‘hospice at home’ patients. This year, some of the team plan to continue their support for St Michaels by gardening on site and helping out in their two Herefordshire shops.

A team from KP Procurement spent their Community Heroes Day helping Riding for the Disabled, as they have done for a few years, each time at a different facility. At the Diamond Centre in Surrey, KP colleagues helped prepare for an annual fundraising event by doing general gardening and cleaning tasks.

Contributing to targets

  • Every year we offer our colleagues a Community Hero Day where they can spend time supporting community or charity of their choice. By 2030, we want all colleagues to take a day off each year to volunteer in the community.
